AyurvedicTreatment and Medicine for LOWER BACK ACHE and SPINAL degeneration – Sciatic Neuritis

Most common is L4-L5 degeneration

It is one of the most common pain disorders today and a chronic condition characterized by a persistent dull or sharp pain over the lower back.  It may be associated with burning, stiffness, numbness or tingling with the pain shooting down the buttocks and the legs. Lower Back pain is caused due to stress and tension in the muscles that support the spine. Trialed and tested and practiced for many generations in Sri Lanakan traditional ayurvedic families and passed down from one family to the next.  Now practiced in Melbourne for the first time, away from Sri Lanka. Amazing results…..  Ayurveda differentiates lower back pain into three basic sub types or doshas: vata, pitta and kapha. These categories are used to both classify a patient individual body type, or prakriti, and the individual's disease state or vikriti.

The main causes for lower back pain are;

  • a) Sedentary lifestyle, stress, over use or under use of the back, postural mistakes.
  • b) Infection in the spinal cord or the nerves produces fever and lethargy.
  • c) Spinal tumor compresses the spine or nerve roots and cause pain.
  • d) Lack of exercise or incorrect exercise.
  • e) Too much weight or overweight or repetitive strain injury (RSI)
  • f) Sciatica (Inflammation of the sciatica nerve).
